Make an Origami Photo Frame that pops up to become a box! You can use this as an origami frame, or use as a display box, which can be shaped 2 different ways. Made from 1 sheet of square paper, no glue required.
This is the second version of my origami pop up frame box. The first version is here: youtu.be/dIlYHDMLoJw - that version is a little easier than this one.
The only difference with this one is that we will create thirds at the start instead of quarters. This changes the folding sequence a lot but the model is pretty similar.
The fact that it pops up to become a box was a total surprise, not my intention so that's a bonus..
You can shape the edges of the box to be rounded or square. If you want them to be the hard square shape (the light pink and blue ones in the photo) then you can fold the whole way along at 2:24 or just shape it afterwards.
The box that it results in when you shape it looks a lot like Phillip Shen's origami bowl (youtu.be/bHcjgWv8JZY) however is not the same at all! 🙃
Put your artwork or photo in before securing the sides at about 9:30 otherwise you'd have to undo the frame.
