About 5 weeks ago I amended some raised beds with cottonseed meal, bone meal, azomite, and composted horse manure. The peppers that I planted are looking great. They look as healthy as any that I've ever grown. Since I need so much compost tea nowadays, I've switched from the 5 gallon buckets to a large plastic barrel, close to 55 gallons. It's easier to make one large batch than it is to make several small ones. So far, so good. I'm letting the Hastings corn dry on the stalk so I can save the seed. The hydroponic Big Beef is just loaded with tomatoes. After getting rid of the spider mites that nearly killed the Moringa, it has come back nicely. The little trees look pretty good. I made the second picking of the Rutgers Heirloom tomatoes that I have growing in the small greenhouse. They were loaded down so I stepped it up a bit and picked 150 pounds or so. And what do you do with so many tomatoes? Let the folks at church know that they are welcome to come get all they want. It took about 30 hours to disperse all of them. There were a lot of smiling faces, including my wife. No canning tomatoes this time ! Maybe next week. ;-)
