By creating new drugs and new materials that are recyclable, environmentally friendly and energy-efficient, chemists solve tomorrow's global challenges within health and medicine, environment and climate. Meet Helal from Jordan, sharing his experience of studying chemistry at the University of Gothenburg.

The Master’s program in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry offers a challenging education in an exciting, active and dynamic research environment. The program gives you in-depth knowledge in the field of design and synthesis of substances that form the basis of exciting new materials or have specific effects on the body. It also includes in-depth studies of organic chemical reactions, amongst others, the principles for stereoselective synthesis, the use of catalysts, spectroscopy and computational chemistry.
