This was my first time traveling to Oregon for a fishing trip. I went with my friend Eric and we were in search of steelhead. Steelhead are a difficult fish to catch and it took a little getting used to. We did a technique called side drifting. We used steelhead roe on floats and beads for bait. I try to explain this technique in the video. It was a lot of fun. Luckily this was a two day trip because day one was slow. The steelhead were not in that part of the river. Day two I landed three beautiful steelhead. The last one was the largest, probably 8-9 pound buck. I want to get back to explore the many rivers of Oregon like the Clackamas, Nestucca, Rogue, Chetco, Umpqua, Wilson River and many more.
