Well Plant Lovers....sometimes you just get caught up in the moment and try to grow orchids that are really NOT suited to your conditions! Case in point! I bought a flowering no ID hybrid hard cane Dendrobium in spring, guessing it was a warm grower with some Papua New Guinea species background and need to try and find out what it actually is and how to look after it! We'll also repot it as it's putting on a massive new growth and needs some attention. And then a seedling of a Papua New Guinea species I felt I couldn't live without!
The no ID could be related to Dendrobium Scarlet Dragon.
The species is Dendrobium atroviolaceum.
The book I mention is: Orchids Of Papua New Guinea; an Introduction by Andreé Millar.
