Mick West | Orbs on Infrared Cameras Are Often Just Dust @MickWest | Uploaded September 2019 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Security cameras have bright infrared lights that are invisible to the naked eye. When a mote of dust drifts near the camera it shows up as a bright out-of-focus speck that looks like a mysterious orb that people think is a ghost or something similarly strange.
Here I show a few examples and demonstrate how to replicate the effect by ripping a tissue in front of an infrared camera.
