The sky has turned dark and the sun a deep orange because of Storm Ophelia.
Filmed near Portsmouth Hampshire UK at 15:44 GMT I have 2 hours of time laps
photos taken 2 secs apart before this time, but it don’t show much. Looking at the sun without a filter and the last photos are from my telescope without a filter.
As the sun moves through the dust in the air, the light is reflected and refracted, Met Office forecaster Grahame Madge said the former hurricane is pulling air and dust up from southern Europe and Africa. Red sky at day: why is it happening?
Grahame Madge from the Met Office reported that the change in the sky was due to dust particles from the continent, being pulled up through a “vigorous and powerful system” connected to Storm Ophelia.
