The last part of the Oracle of Ages playthrough, and wow did I make all of this way more complicated than it had to be. And also way more challenging given I didn't have a sword upgrade for the entire game.
Starting off in Jabu-Jabu's Belly, I really wasn't digging the swimming mechanic still. The dungeon seemed nice, but having to spam to swim the entire time was very sad face. Then I get into the final dungeon of the game, which I thought was a very good summary of what I had done in the game previously. I understood all of the gimmicks now, so I was able to move through it at a decent pace.
Then came the final boss. I think the story leading up to this was super cool and laid out very well. The fights, which a bit unforgiving, were totally doable.
BUT THEN THERE WAS MORE. Since this was a linked game after beating Oracle of Seasons, there was an extra boss that I got to go against now.. Not even a final boss, but two back to back extra bosses with their own phases, once again with great lore! But I was crying by the end of it. With a level 1 sword and no health potion, I don't even know why I kept trying. Plus, there was a secret mechanic that I wasn't doing, so I couldn't even beat the first one for forever. Great bosses, but I feel like you aren't meant to actually beat them until you 100% the rest of the game, kind of like how Link's Awakening felt with it's final boss.
Great game overall, though I would recommend Seasons over this one should someone just want to play 1 of the games.
