Fauquier ENT | Optokinetic Training to Treat Visually Induced Dizziness or Vertigo (Vestibular Rehabilitation) @fauquierent | Uploaded 4 months ago | Updated 3 minutes ago
Optokinetic training is a method to treat people who have dizziness in visually stimulating places like busy city street, casinos, grocery stores, or airports. In such spatial visually busy environments, symptoms include nausea, dizziness, or just feeling off. Some triggers for people who suffer from visual vertigo include nausea and dizziness when going to Costco, pulling into a parking lot, trying to walk across the parking lot, and feeling dizzy or uncomfortable when seeing traffic moving past while setting still at a red light.
So with optokinetic training, there are two goals... Desensitize to a visually busy environment before even going into it and use of the somatasensory or touch system by paying attention to our bodies to help with grounding. Watch the video to see how all this works!
