It's been about 5 months since Frums was added to the Music Library, and it's hype to see cool levels starting to be released with their music. Songs such as this one are definitely not your typical Geometry Dash song, so it can make for some pretty unique gameplay and visuals if adapted well. I'd say that's the case in this level by GOOBER194. It's almost entirely black and white in color, with a few other colors mixed in here and there. Despite the limited colors, it still feels very interesting to play thanks to the custom backgrounds and foreground designs. Both the color choices and overall theming visually is based on the song's music video on Frums's channel, which is worth checking out if you wanna see a comparison. That does mean that a lot of the visuals in this level aren't the creator's ideas, but it isn't a direct copy and I think there is skill in being able to adapt it into Geometry Dash this well. For example, compared to the video this has gameplay on top with structures and other decorations that are all original—it's mostly the backgrounds and overall visuals per part that are based on the video.
I saw that some of the comments in-game complained about the gameplay, but I think it's pretty unique and nicely synchronized to the song (with 0:24 being a good example). Floppy also let me know that the wave part at 1:30 has a randomized game mode. This is a pretty cool touch for a part that mirrors this section of the music video well. All in all, I think this deserves an Epic Hard Demon rating. Special thanks to Floppy for recording this showcase as well!

As tradition has it, Ayup (a Discord server of many Geometry Dash players and creators) release a megacollab on Christmas. Last year it was kr1tmas, which was a really cool Christmas level. This time around, 2.2 just released as well, making this one even more interesting. Toomas was put together in just a week. Its definitely not the creators strongest work, but its still a very cool level overall. Every part uses the Christmas theme well, utilizing appropriate colors and visuals, whether its thanks to the block design, decorations, backgrounds, and more. Most importantly, its a fun level both to watch and play; its clear that the creators had a lot of fun making this, not taking the process extremely seriously, which I felt while playing. Theres a lot of fun art around, as well as fun usage of 2.2 features such as particles, camera controls, and more. This deserves an Epic Medium Demon rating in my opinion.

This is another entry to the NCS Gauntlet Contest, which is ending in just under 1 month as of writing. Its awesome to see more levels for it, especially ones that arent Demon difficulty like this. As the contest isnt over yet, and Im a judge for the contest, I wont be writing a review on the level in this description. However, Im still curious what you guys think about this, so let me know in the comment section. Also, are there any other good entries that I should upload?
*COIN RATING*
Bronze. 1/4. The level has 3 coins, which unfortunately dont have much to them. Theyre both easy to find and to get, making a Bronze rating overall appropriate. To get a higher rating, theyd need a bit more to them.
- 1st Coin: SIlver. The first coin is the best of the three, which is why its getting a Silver rating. In the transition at 0:13, you can see a normal gravity portal with the coin inside of it. Normally, you end the previous part in normal gravity, making it so you dont fall into this portal and get the coin. This is a nice hint that you need to end the previous part upside-down. To do that, you need to touch the edge of the bubble at 0:07 (and not go through it completely). This is a bit trickier than the normal route, and figuring it out isnt the easiest either.
- 2nd Coin: Bronze. At 0:37, you can see a coin hidden at the bottom, which requires a single extra click to get compared to the normal route. You would think you may have to click twice very fast to return to the normal route too, which is normally the case for coins like this, but the level takes you back up again automatically. The coin is both easy to find and get, and with just a single click to it, it cant get anything higher than a Bronze rating. This placement for a collectable involved in a coin route could be okay, but not for the coin itself.
- 3rd Coin: Bronze. This coin is similar to the second one, as it also only requires a single easy click to get. Its found at 1:21, and its actually less hidden than the previous coin. Clicking the trigger orb before it is all thats required to get it.

When Knots told me his first 2.2 level was done, I was very excited to check it out, and it definitely delivers. It continues where he left off in 2.1, mixing in lots of art and effects on top of his really polished style, which work together to make for a cohesive theme. In this case its a futuristic, robotic theme. This is seen in the details in the fantastic structures and block designs on top of neat custom backgrounds. I also like how the color scheme is mostly grayscale but with the inclusion of a selection of red, green, and blue depending on the part, which is another fitting choice for the theme. The inclusion of 2.2 features such as camera controls and directional changes suit the theme and song, while emphasizing detail or scale and making the gameplay a bit more interesting. They particularly help to make the first coin much more interesting, which you can read about below. The coins do increase the difficulty of the level, but without them it should probably be about 7 Stars once rated. It certainly deserves at least an Epic rating, and Im excited to see what Knots creates next in this update.
*COIN RATING*
Gold. 3/4. There are two coins to be found in the level, both of which are difficult to figure out at first. They also have thought and effort put into them, which Ive come to expect from Knots at this point, but its still great to see it over and over again. Neither of them do anything original conceptually, though, despite the good execution, which is why they do not reach up to Viprin Certified.
- 1st Coin: Gold. This is the best coin in the level, which starts at around 1:25. Here, if you fly a bit too high, you can see a unique red symbol next to a spider orb. Touching it makes it clear that its a collectable, and you can dodge the upcoming structure using the orb. This makes the part glitch just a second later, which looks convincing thanks to some art and shaders. Then, you get brought into a special, static area where you have to survive going back and forth in between the moving blocks 10 times before receiving the coin. Note that where you spawn, whether gravity is normal or flipped, and which path is open on the opposite side is randomized. This can be quite tricky to beat depending on your randomization. Once done, you get back to the normal route. Such coin-exclusive areas have already been done in several 2.2 levels, but the execution of the transitions and the area itself is excellent here, making a Gold rating appropriate.
- 2nd Coin: Silver. This coin actually took me longer to figure out than the former, but its a lot more simple and not difficult once you know. At 2:10, during the small animation before the next part, you can see a small cube moving towards spikes at the bottom. Clicking makes this cube jump, and if timed correctly to get past the spikes, the coin is revealed right afterwards. When playing, I only really paid attention to the middle of the screen. Putting the coins hints at the bottom was a smart move from Knots, making it noticeable if you look closely but easy to miss if not. This is lacking some extra difficulty for a higher rating, as the timings are quite easy, but I still really like how its incorporated into the levels visuals.

stereo madness copy wasnt the most exciting visually, which does make sense considering it is a pretty slow and easy level suitable for the song. Despite that, it featured some cool designs and colors. Doing these RobTopArchiver levels in order, we have cant let go copy next. I said that the previous one had some cool designs, but thats even more true here. This is what many people refer to as core style because of the massive structures with tons of variety in objects and details. Its been a while since Ive seen much design levels like this, and as an active player when this style was popular, it makes me happy to see it done this well in a level today. Not only are the designs done well, but the color usage is good too. There are many nice color combinations, such as blue and red at the start, and the pulses are perfectly timed to the song. 0:35 to 0:42 is a good example of this. The difficulty does take a huge jump from stereo madness copy, as the detailed visuals and fast speed makes it difficult to sightread. Memorization is required. As such, it will probably be around a Medium Demon in difficulty. Special thanks to Floppy for recording.

This is the sixth Legendary level thus far, and only the third Platformer one. Considering the quality in both gameplay and visuals, as well as the overall experience, I think its deserved. This will give you at least a good 5 minutes of playtime, but even more if you try to go for the secret routes, which lead to coins. Its nice to see a Legendary thats a bit on the easier side for accessibilitys sake.
I mentioned the overall experience, which lies in the usage of art and audio. Everything feels intentional for the sake of emphasizing the theme of the level. As the title says, this is about a tornado sweeping over an area, but before that you have to pass through some nice nature and then into a fortress. Further into the level, you have to make it through the tornado yourself as it wreaks havoc on the environment. At the end, you are back where you started, but all you see are the ruins. This connects the start and end really nicely, making for a cohesive story overall, even though its a bit depressing. Without great art for both the background and foreground, as well as fitting music and SFX usage, the theme wouldnt be portrayed nearly as good. AbstractDark has always been great at making themed levels, and with these tools, its no surprise it ended up this good.
