In Bravely Default 2 there are optional quest bosses. This D Vergr guide gives tips on how to beat him as well as how to unlock the fight. You can find D-Vergr in Magma Mountain to the west of Holograd. BD2 is a game that asks you to look out for status effects, so make sure you have the equipment I list in this guide.
I am doing this fight on the Hard Mode difficulty, so it might be easier for you than it looks here.
