🇮🇷 🚫 🇺🇸 The United States has long pursued a strategy of belligerent threats and sanctions against Iran, repeatedly bringing the two nations to the brink of war. Cultures of Resistance has long supported a different approach: one based on citizen diplomacy, grassroots solidarity, and cross-cultural understanding. For this short film, we interviewed a number of Iranian artists who recalled their people's history of suffering from foreign intervention and who demonstrate their commitment to peace.

$Skateistan | Short Documentary Most people might think that helmets, knee pads, and skateboards are unusual tools for rebuilding a society, but not Oliver Percovich, who in 2007 founded Skateistan, Afghanistans first and only co-ed skateboarding school. Families will often dedicate their limited resources to investing in the education and futures of their sons at the expense of their daughters. ➔ At Skateistan, girls are given the same opportunities that are afforded to boys and are provided a safe space where they can develop a sense of freedom.
