Ahead of US Presidential elections 2024, Republican candidate Donald Trump announces "Operation Aurora", signaling deportations of what he claims are gang members. He said he will invoke an immigration law from 1798 to deport members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua. "I’m announcing today that, upon taking office, we will have an 'Operation Aurora' at the federal level to expedite the removals of these savage gangs," Trump said. "The invasion will be stopped. The migrant flights will end and Kamala’s app for illegals will be shut down immediately within 24 hours. On that same day we will begin the task of finding and deporting every single illegal alien gang member from our country. We’ll get them out, this will be a major national undertaking," he added.
