Mountain Side Highlight from Ep. 267 w/ Nick Black
Nick Black - is an experienced emergency and trauma nurse whose medical career began as an EMT in Southern California in 2009. After working 911 and ambulance services throughout Los Angeles, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Coast University and relocated to Colorado, where he became a trauma nurse at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central, a Level I Trauma Center. Nick later spent several years as a travel nurse, working in major trauma centers, rural hospitals, and pediatric facilities across Illinois, California, and Colorado—including throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He also taught nursing at Front Range Community College and currently serves as a nursing supervisor at a rural hospital in Woodland Park, Colorado. Outside the hospital, Nick plays an integral role with SnakeStaff Systems, providing medical direction, product testing and development, regulatory support, and guidance to clients and agencies around the world. Nick’s life outside medicine is equally diverse. He is an outdoorsman, hunter, western horseback rider, enduro dirt bike rider, off-road racer, and automotive enthusiast. He has also completed firearms and tactical training through the Able Shepherd program. Above all, Nick is a husband and father who continues to pursue experiences that expand his knowledge, skills, and ability to help others.
