UNESCO has convened 5 ad-hoc Working Groups focusing on key impact areas relevant to the implementation of the UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science, bringing together experts and open science entities, organizations and institutions, according to their field of activity and expertise. The fifth meeting of the UNESCO Working Group on Open Science Infrastructures took place on 3 June 2024 with a focus on artificial intelligence and open science. Mr Areeq Chowdhury presented the findings of the new report Science in the age of AI: How artificial intelligence is changing the nature and method of scientific research. Mr Mohammad Hosseini presented the new scientific article “Open Science at the Generative AI Turn: An Exploratory Analysis of Challenges and Opportunities”.
