@TempleOfTheMartyrs did a cool and flattering cover version of this tune. You could check it out here: youtube.com/watch?v=vV5piG2tITU
More back story than you want to know:
A colleague of mine was talking with her six-year-old niece. The girl says āAunt Ashley, Iāve already had three treats today! I saw the sunrise; that was the first treat.ā Obviously this is totally adorable, but also cool advice. Following this, Ashley and I would share our ātreats of the day.ā Small, random things that occur as we go through life that make one smile or lifts oneās spirit. I think this is a powerful meditation. You donāt need to keep a spreadsheet or anything⦠just notice the small joys⦠the ātreat of the day.ā
I didnāt think treat of the day was a particularly musical phrase so I messed around with it a little bit.
The verses were written by famous depressed guy, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, over some minor chords. Then one āopens their heartāā for the chorus.
Lyrics:
V1: The heart-ache and the natural shocks that mortal flesh is heir
The slings and arrows outrageous fortune loosed through the air
Donāt lose all your mirth and be left not knowing where
Under this excellent canopy there is beauty every where
V2: Waiting on too solid flesh to waste into a dew
When weary, stale and flat seem the worldās uses to you
In the unweeded garden where all has gone to seed
There may be random beauty if ya open eyes to see.
Ch: Open my eyes
To rare and subtle sights
Expose my heart
Petite and random delights
Open my soul
Alleviate the night
Open my heart
We will explore the light

![So Ready by The FOG (original song)
Today is our 18th anniversary. This is a song I wrote to be performed at our wedding. I thought it was about time to revisit it.
Lyrics:
So Ready
Met a lady the other day
Pretty lady swept me away
Feel secure, but yet so free
Is she the one to understand me?
Pretty lady gentle yet strong
Is she the one, Ive sought for so long
Her spirits strong, her heart is true
Theres only one thing to say
I love you
Life can be sad, so sad and lonely
But now I realize it was in my power all the time
To add up to two, you must start out with two wholes
Standing together my love grows stronger all the time
Im so ready
To be in love
So ready
To be in love with you
Listen lady to what I say
You came into my life swept me away
Feel secure, but yet so free
You are the one I want with me
Pretty lady, Ive sought you so long
My need is you my love is strong
The spirits high, my heart its true
Theres only one thing to say
I love you
Life can be full of peace and loving
Now I know that one can find it if they try
Facing our trials as two on the same road
Standing together our love grows stronger all the time

![Leave Those Monsters Behind (original song)
Please comment. Its fun to know who stopped by š
It would be cool if you could listen to the entire 2:14 ššš¤£.
I actually know what this song is aboutšš¤£. Basically its not letting your past trauma interfere with your current bliss.
Lyrics:
āLeave Those Monsters Behindā
Lost in the dark and canāt find the groove
Haunted by the shadows of the mind
Canāt find the vibe, puzzled by the rhyme
Leave those monsters locked in their time
What about the monsters?
Weāll leave those monsters behind
But what about the monsters?
We will hide in the present moment of time
[ guitar solo]
A rift in the mind where bliss can slip through
A blind mirror where demons are true
Weāll dance on the ashes of lost control
Weāll allow the delectation to breakthrough
