The skulltula thing was found by ZFG a long time ago, but was re-discovered earlier today by Skater.
If the camera faces where the skulltula originally was, it activate the "softlock" state, which is what you do the hookshot jump off of. You also need to clear the text box to get out of the "softlock" state.
