Ontario Premier Doug Ford has responded to US President Donald Trump’s bid to rename Lake Ontario “Lake America” by installing a shoreline sign reading: “Lake Ontario. Now and Always.”

The dispute follows the collapse of trade talks and new 50% US tariffs on C$28 billion worth of Canadian goods. Canada plans matching counter-tariffs next month.
