Today we're joined by Buff Dad as we go through a brutal Mike Mentzer inspired HIT routine. What's HIT? High-Intensity Training, or HIT, takes a wildly different approach compared to traditional bodybuilding. Forget those long gym sessions. With HIT, it's all about maximum effort in minimal time. The core idea is to push each exercise to its absolute limit, performing every set with an intensity so high it truly stimulates your muscles for growth and strength. Instead of countless sets and reps, HIT advocates believe that truly intense, brief workouts are superior for building size and power, arguing that excessive volume can actually hinder progress. It's about quality over quantity, making every single repetition count to ignite your body's natural adaptive responses.

So in this chest and back workout we'll be doing a total of only 4 exercises: 2 isolation exercises which will act as a way to pre-exhaust the muscles, and 2 compound exercises. 1 for chest and 1 for back. We'll be doing a few warm-up sets before heading into the main set, where the goal will be total muscle exhaustion. Let's do this.
