Only 1 in a million people will know what this is but it’s one of the most fascinating things you can wear in your jewellery! This is Pallasite Meteorite and I was lucky enough to make one into a silver pendant for a customer.
A pallasite is a rare class of stony-iron meteorite characterized by large, gem-quality olivine (peridot) crystals embedded in a metallic matrix of nickel-iron. These meteorites are believed to originate from the core-mantle boundary of differentiated asteroids that were shattered by collisions during the early formation of the Solar System. Only about 300 pallasites are known among over 60,000 recorded meteorites, making them exceptionally rare . Now you know what it is, would you wear it and how much do you think this pendant is worth?
