UPDATE: A point of clarification. My statement in the video that "There are some things worse than rape" is a general reference to events in the world.
Having your life taken by someone intentionally is worse than rape. Being raped and murdered afterward is worse than rape. Being tortured daily in a prison camp is worse than rape. Being in an abusive relationship for a long time can be considered as worse than rape... At least in rape, it may happen once.
That's not to minimise the horrific experience of the act of rape... But faced with a situation that has happened maybe once or twice, compared to a situation that may be ongoing for days, weeks, months or even years, may be preferable if those were your only options.
Hope this clears things up. It's not a clarification that will have 100% agreement, but then again people's perception of what might be worse than rape is variable. I understand there is room for discussion here, but I'm sure there's common ground here.
