Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - Fan service can be seen as an asset, a tool a developer can use for their game. Much like with graphics or OSTs, fan service can serve to benefit a game, or detract from the experience. Xenoblade Chronicles 2, for the most part, handles it exceptionally because it appealed to longtime fans while simultaneously bringing new fans into the fold, such as myself.
This game turned out far differently than I expected it to, and I loved it anyway. Truly, I won't forget the experiences I've had, or the friends I've made, because of this game!
