James Gunn is working tirelessly on Superman, and the first DC Universe film makes a thrilling decision that is letting the movie surpass Henry Cavill's Superman one year before its release.
As with most of the DCEU films, Cavill did the best he could with the material he was given, but his tenure as Superman was marred by controversy.
With the introduction of the new DCU, the franchise is now aiming to embark on a new chapter, led by co-CEOs of DC Studios, Gunn and Peter Safran.
Although Cavill portrayed Superman for almost ten years, he only starred in one solo film as the superhero before making appearances in a few crossover events.
