Try this instead: ask one question—“Is this thought useful?”
Not whether it’s true. Not whether it feels important. Just whether it’s helping you do anything—solve, decide, or act.
If it’s not, you don’t need to keep entertaining it.
Overthinking feels productive, but it isn’t. Real problem-solving moves you forward. Overthinking keeps you in place.
If a thought keeps coming back without leading anywhere, that’s your signal. Acknowledge it, then shift your attention to something that actually does.
