In this episode of Financial Modeler’s Corner, host Paul Barnhurst invites Diarmuid Early to explore AI in financial modeling, the risks of one-prompt workflows, and why professional judgment still matters when technology promises instant results.

AI can turn a complicated workflow into one prompt.

That doesn’t mean the work is finished.

If your process skips reviewing the output, you haven’t eliminated a step. You’ve eliminated your quality control.

A model can look polished and still be completely wrong.

And giving AI one prompt with no examples, skills, or meaningful context only increases that risk.

But dismissing AI because it makes mistakes misses the point too.

Humans make mistakes. AI makes mistakes. The real advantage comes from knowing how to catch them.
