A baseball card discovery like this almost NEVER happens.
On this episode of Cardboard Treasure Hunt, Howard Chasser shares the incredible story of a vintage baseball card collection that seemingly came out of nowhere — including an incredibly rare Joe Jackson Globe card, Walter Johnson, Ty Cobb and a group of Globe cards that had been kept together for roughly 110 years.
It started when a gentleman walked up to Howard's table at a card show and mentioned that he had inherited some T206 and T207 baseball cards. Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out a stack of cards…
Sitting on top was Joe Jackson.
And what Howard discovered when he flipped the card over made this find even crazier.
The collection included:
⚾ An extremely rare Joe Jackson Globe card
⚾ A Walter Johnson Globe card
⚾ A T206 Ty Cobb Bat on Shoulder
⚾ 20 sequential Globe cards numbered 81–100
⚾ Globe cards with no previously graded examples
⚾ 47 T206 cards
⚾ 58 T207 cards
⚾ More than 100 vintage cards that had been out of the hobby for generations
