This is one of the best books I've ever read.
Imagine if Edgar Allen Poe wrote Notes from Underground by Dostoevsky, and you would have this book.
It's a Posthumous Confession by Marcellus Emants, translated by Novel Prize winner author JM Coetzee, and published by the fine folks over at @nyrbooks
It's a bit surprising that I loved this book so much, given that it was written in the late 1800s, and I typically read and love books from the 20th century.
If you like dark, brooding, and nihilistic books that are stacked with moral questions and philosophical ambiguity, then this book is for you.
