A bit of a diversion from the actual Spanish translation, LAMENTE is my “HALF BLOOD-Y” take on techno - a song about lamenting the parts of us we must leave behind to grow into our best selves. Comfortable headspaces that now hold us back, friends we’ve “settled” for, habits that keep us in a chokehold from progressing. This song came from the idea of tonal contrast - dropping uplifting pads and euphoric synth lines straight into pounding minimalistic kick drums mimicking the beauty of growing into ourselves and the grief for those we lose along the way.
