In the summer of 2025, Kristian Morgan set out on his seventh attempt at the Supported Fastest Known Time of the Appalachian Trail. Having previously set the second-fastest time on the route, Kristian had lofty goals of breaking the overall record and walking away from his nearly decade-long tussle with the vaunted trail.
Through all his attempts on the trail, his mother — Sharon — has always been his crew chief. Their tight-knit relationship certainly wasn’t forged on the AT, but their shared time on the trail has amplified their bond.
This story is about finding deeper meaning through moving together from Maine to Georgia one last time.
