CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Controversy surrounding the Al Cannon Detention Center continues Tuesday. The facility has been the subject of lawsuits and a Department of Justice investigation.

The Charleston County Sheriff's office says since January 2021, 14 inmates have died at the Al Cannon Detention Center. One of those people was Julian Jenkins.

More than a year and a half after his death, his family is still waiting for answers.
