I'm so happy to share this with you all 🙌
This song is a powerful one that was inspired after watching the One Love movie while I was playing in London after a trip to Jamaica. The message of Unity is one I feel we need now more than ever, as our world can feel so fragmented and broken. I know that music has the power to bring us back together and to feel again that which is inherent within us all beyond the diverse expressions of life or that which we see on the surface.
This song is my way to pay respect to all those who have inspired me and given their blessing for me to be able to share these songs in the world. Before I left Jamaica on my last trip while staying at my elder and teacher Ras Bongo's house his son Ras Gabri didn't want us to leave and was pleading for us to stay saying "Ras Samuel you can't leave" to which the elder replied "Ras Samuel has a work to do, he must go and spread the message" with a big smile on his face. Not too long after while I was on tour in Germany he passed and left his body. I feel that his spirit is in this song along with all those who have bestowed their blessing upon me. It is more than just music, it carries the spirit of love within it and that I know to be the most powerful and potent medicine for our times.
I look forward to singing it together at the live shows soon.
