With only ONE day to explore Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks we had to make the most of our short time! A morning drive into Jackson from Afton, WY where we stayed at the historic Colters Lodge. From Jackson, we stopped at the famous Mormon Row, Schwabacher Landing then Jackson Lake and the Chapel of the Sacred Heart. The views along the drive alone are unforgettable! From Jackson Lake we entered Yellowstone at the south entrance, made a stop at Lewis Falls, stopped into the Grand Visitor Center for lunch, then followed the Grand Loop Road along Yellowstone Lake. A drive through the Hayden Valley area brought us to the spectacular Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone to view the Upper and Lower Falls. Exiting the park on the East entrance road towards Cody, WY allowed us to drive what has to be considered one of the most scenic streches of highway in all of the U.S.
Both of the Parks deserve much more time to fully appreciate but even our short day trip through the parks left us with a long lasting memory that we will never forget!
