![[CM] - Decima Challenge Mode - Ranged DPS Scourge
Log: https://dps.report/oP2F-20250602-195302_deci
Context (long):
Our first Decima CM kill as a guild, and the first kill for two of our members. We have started to include Decima CM into our Monday 3 hour fullclears.
Since we dont have much time for each boss if we are to complete all 8 wings in under 3 hours, this limits the number of wipes we are allowed.
We start with Wing 4 CM as a warm-up at 7 pm, then move onto Greer (normal mode). After Greer has died, we try Decima CM. At 7:45 pm we turn off CM and continue with normal mode Decima.
This week was the first time we managed to kill Decima CM (it died on the third attempt, after the first attempt was a 0.37% wipe).
Hopefully for next week we can build on this success, get her first try and then move onto the next part: Ura CM until TBD.
This will be even more challenging, because Ura CM quite a few of our players have never even tried her before, so we will have to spend a few weeks progging before having a shot at getting the kill.
The final goal is to also do Greer in CM, but I think quite a bit of time will pass until we will get consistent at that one. And for all of this to remain in sub 3 hour territory... huh... Yeah, weve got our work cut out for us.
Today was a good first step. [CM] - Decima Challenge Mode - Ranged DPS Scourge](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/nvJ5kM5_Wmo/mqdefault.jpg)

Test 2 (confirmation): https://dps.report/EvUI-20240405-234435_cerus
Explanation:
There are two dominant theories going around.
Theory 1: Greens are handled one after the other. Greens need three players. If you stack three greens, the first green succeeds, the second green succeeds and kills everyone (due to debuff) and the third green fails because nobody is left alive, which wipes the remaining players.
Theory 2: Every green needs two players (who do not have a green) inside of them. The owners of a green do not count. You can stack three greens just fine provided you have the three green owners and at least two more people inside all of them.
Theory 2b: Every green needs two players (who do not have a green) inside of them. The owners of a green do not count. When three greens are stacked, it works as in Theory 1, leading to a wipe.
In this video I am going to show that Theory 1 is correct and Theory 2 and Theory 2b are both wrong.
Test 1 falsifies Theory 2 directly. Theory 2b is proven wrong in Test 2, as you only have one non-green-owner doing two greens at once, so according to that theory it should not count as successful.
This demonstrates once and for all that owners of greens **do** count towards their own green and other greens, greens actually need 3 players to count as completed (regardless of ownership status), and greens are handled sequentially to make sure the debuff actually kills players who stand in multiple greens.
Does this mean that Theory 1 paints a full picture? No. But so far I have not been shown any situation that does not match Theory 1. Until evidence to the contrary of Theory 1 has been brought forward, this should be what we view as the correct explanation of the green mechanic. Theory 2 and 2b are myths.
