A USPS whistleblower says the new system for checking mail-in ballots is so strict that one misread barcode could send a whole batch, potentially tens of thousands of ballots, back to the state.
USPS and the White House pushed back, saying the portal took months to build and these barcodes are routine, but neither took on that claim directly.
Courts have blocked parts of the White House's new rule on Mail-in voting, though it's in effect now, and some states start mailing ballots this week.
