Reclamation is a major player in managing water resources in Northern California, with specific roles in the Trinity River Restoration Program. Our TRRP experts organized and participated in a multi-agency education experience to introduce Cal Poly Humboldt students to the Trinity River and the complexities of managing water in the West.
Join us as Cal Poly Humboldt students embark on an unforgettable adventure down the Trinity River during the Klamath Basin Field Course! This two-week immersive course gives future natural resource leaders a rare chance to learn directly from the professionals who dedicate their lives to restoring and protecting California’s vital waterways.
Floating down the river instead of sitting in a classroom, students get to see real restoration projects up close and hear about everything from hydrology and river design to policy and public outreach. With experts from Reclamation, the Yurok and Hoopa Valley Tribes, the Forest Service, Trinity County, and many more, students get a 360-degree view of what it really takes to keep these rivers healthy and thriving.
This hands-on experience doesn’t just educate — it inspires. By seeing restoration in action and connecting with agency leaders, students start to imagine themselves in future careers helping manage and protect our natural resources.
