More than 2,400 people are missing and at least 584 have been killed after a devastating, tsunami-like wall of water gouged a path through the border region between Nepal and Tibet, sweeping away entire villages.

AFP teams have rushed to some of the worst-hit areas, reporting from devastated villages and speaking with residents who have lost everything.
