On Earth | Classical Crossover (inspired by The Lord's Prayer)

One of my favorite sections of scripture is where Jesus teaches us to pray “Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

If you’re anything like me, you look around and see a lot of the opposite of God’s will happening.

War. Abuse. Cover ups. Idolatry.

And so I mourn. And that’s ok. Jesus mourned too throughout scripture.

And yet I also have hope – God is moving and Jesus is still on the throne (and always will be).

So we live in the tension – the seemingly conflicting positions of disappointment and eagerness.

This music attempts to connect the two – a forlorning with hope. Mourning with expectation that things ARE getting better.

Because if it’s not yet fully God’s will, then God is still working.

The album is called On Earth, and the first letter of each track spells AS IN HEAVEN.

And each track corresponds to The Lord’s Prayer:

Above: Our Father, who art in heaven
Sacred: Hallowed be thy name
Incoming: Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done
Nearness: On earth, as it is in heaven
Help: Give us this day our daily bread
Erase: And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those wo sin against us
Avert: And lead us not into temptation
Valley: But deliver us from evil
Eternity: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and every
Now Spoken: Amen

I pray this music is an encouragement to you in this season.

I firmly believe this: if it’s not fully God’s will, then God is still at work. And he’s using each of us to bridge that gap between heaven and earth.
