We love pretzels! My brother David has now taken on Pretzel Day at the Food Nanny Salt Lake store every Friday and we can't get over the yumminess of pretzel dough! In this recipe, I make David's Stuffed Pretzel Baguettes and my kids just LOVE them!

RECIPE HERE
* 1 tsp White sugar
* 4 tsp Red Star active dry yeast
* 1 ¾ Cups Warm water between 100-110 degrees
* 5 Cups Kamut white flour
* 1/2 Cup White sugar
* 1 ½ tsp Fleur del Sel or French Gray Salt
* 1 tbsp Olive Oil
* 1tbsp honey
* 1/4 to 1/2 Cup More warm water if needed
* 1/2 Cup Baking Soda*4 Cups Hot water (as hot as you can get it out of the tap) French Gray Salt as desired for sprinkling on the Pretzels.
Filling :
1 pound mild Italian sausage
8 ounces cream cheese
Directions
1. Put 1 teaspoon of sugar in a small bowl. Add yeast and 1¾ cups warm water. Stir gently. Cover and let rise until foamy.
2. In a large bowl or electric mixer, add flour, sugar and salt. Mix. Add yeast mixture, oil and honey. Mix thoroughly with dough hook or wooden spoon. Add up to ½ cup more warm water as needed to get a firm dough consistency. Turn out onto lightly floured surface and knead by hand or with mixer for 7-8 minutes.
3. You can either let dough rise for an hour or use RIGHT away !
4. Meanwhile in a saucepan brown 1 pound of mild Italian sausage with 8 ounces of cream cheese ! Mix and cook until meat is brown !
5. Once the meat is done … Divide the pretzle dough into 4 sections and roll out with a rolling pin to 14x5 !
6. Bead down the middle the meat mixture and the close up the baguette liked showed in the video !
7. Get a swallow bowl with 4 cups of hot water with 1/2 cup baking soda mix !
8. Dip the baguette into the soda bath and then place on our Food Nanny baguette pans ( makes sure to grease them well with cooking spray )
9. Take your Food Nanny Lame and make cuts in the baguette 💥
10. Bake 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes on the bottom rack ! Make sure the bottoms are light brown !
11. Once they come out of the oven brush with some melted butter & garlic salt to taste! Then brush all over the baguettes 🤍
12. Eat & enjoy with our homemade Alfredo sauce 😋
