This video shows the total olympic medals won by country from 1896 to 2021. The total incldues gold, silver and bronze medals from the Winter and Summer Olympics

Notes:

Austria and Hungary’s medals are counted towards “Austria-Hungary” until 1918
West/East German medals are combined from 1949 to 1989
Soviet Union medals are all carried on by Russia.
Netherlands Antilles is combined with the Netherlands
Estonia Medals account for medals won before Soviet Annexation as well as after 1991 independence.
Russian figures account for Russian Empire (1896-1922), Soviet Union (1922-1991) & the Russian Federation (1991-2021)
The Unified Soviet team in the 1992 Olympics is counted under Russian Medals
British India’s medals are counted towards modern India
Puerto Rico's Medals are combined with the United States
Hong Kong's Medals are combined with China
