Joffrey's death was one of the most shocking, and most exciting deaths in Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire. The prevailing theory in A Song of Ice and Fire is that House Tyrell, Olenna Tyrell specifically, colluded with Petyr Baelish in order to poison the king at the Purple Wedding. And, Game of Thrones seemingly confirmed this narrative. However, this particular theory doesn't hold up well to much scrutiny. So did the Queen of Thorns really poison Joffrey Baratheon?
