This is a video response to Justin Wolfe from Wolfe Customs wanting to see some examples of old vs. new ways of accomplishing a bushcraft task.
I decided to start a fire using firearms today. Representing the old way of doing things is a .54 cal. Lyman Great Plains flintlock rifle.
On the modern side is a .223 Remington cartridge from an AR15.
CAUTION!!!!!! If you decide to try any of these techniques for yourself follow all firearms handling safety rules!! Also, use EXTREME CAUTION when working with black powder. If you are unsure of what you are doing get some help!
Remember, all guns are always loaded and don't point them at anything you are not willing to destroy.
