Welcome! Old tank repair is a series on the ECA channel where I take an old downtrodden built model and give it a full restoration. Along the way I take the viewer along the process from start to finish. I also show several tips and techniques on how the process is done.
In this episode the model that is getting rebuilt is an old 1/35th scale Tamiya 1980's M247 SGT York DIVAD SPAAG model. This model I built back in the 1993 and is one of the oldest tank models in my collection. The model was played with for several years where it fell into a bad state disrepair. In the year 2000 I did a restoration but several mistakes were made during the build and the paintwork. This model sat forgotten about in a display shelf for 20 years. Will it be possible to complete and restore? Find out!
