🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 7 miles south along the Old Dixie Highway from Dayton to Moraine, Ohio — following a historic north-south corridor through the southern Dayton area.
Travel south along approximately seven miles of the former Dixie Highway from Patterson Boulevard at Perry and Apple Streets, just south of downtown Dayton, to Dixie Avenue at Interstate 75 in Moraine. Although the historic highway no longer carries a single road name through this part of Montgomery County, the drive follows a continuous corridor that once formed part of one of America’s earliest major long-distance automobile routes. The Dixie Highway was created during the early years of automobile travel to establish improved road connections between the Midwest and the South, eventually developing into an extensive network reaching from Michigan toward Florida.
The video begins on Patterson Boulevard near the southern edge of downtown Dayton and heads south through an established urban corridor. Patterson Boulevard historically became part of the route used by U.S. Route 25 through Dayton, continuing the transportation role previously associated with the Dixie Highway. As the route moves away from downtown, the surroundings transition from older city neighborhoods and commercial properties toward the broader industrial and transportation landscape found south of central Dayton. This part of the drive reflects the evolution of the corridor from an early intercity automobile road into a modern urban arterial serving local traffic.
Continuing south, the historic alignment passes through the area where the roadway carries names including Dixie Avenue and Kettering Boulevard before reaching Moraine. Rather than functioning as a single signed highway today, the former Dixie Highway survives here through these connected streets. Portions of the corridor later carried U.S. Route 25, the principal pre-Interstate north-south U.S. highway through the Dayton area, before Interstate 75 assumed much of the region’s long-distance traffic.
The character of the road becomes increasingly industrial approaching Moraine, a community with a long association with manufacturing and transportation. The wider roadway, commercial properties, railroad infrastructure, and large industrial sites reflect the importance of this corridor to the southern Dayton metropolitan area. Moraine itself developed alongside major manufacturing operations, including aviation and later automobile production, giving this short section of the old highway a particularly strong connection to the region’s industrial history.
The drive concludes on Dixie Avenue at Interstate 75 in Moraine. Today, I-75 provides the high-speed north-south connection that highways such as U.S. 25 and, before it, the Dixie Highway were intended to provide. The older pavement remains below the Interstate system, however, carrying local traffic through Dayton and Moraine while preserving the path of a transportation corridor that predates modern freeways by decades.

🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 31 miles east along Interstate 30 from Arlington to Garland, Texas — a busy urban corridor through the heart of Dallas–Fort Worth.
The drive along Interstate 30 between Arlington and Garland begins near Ballpark Way, just west of the interchange with State Highway 360 in Arlington. Heading east, the route quickly leaves Arlington behind and enters Grand Prairie, a bustling suburban community. Here, the highway crosses the President George Bush Turnpike before stretching toward the western edge of Dallas. Entering the city, the road meets the interchange with Loop 12 before slowing through heavy traffic approaching the Trinity River.
Crossing the Margaret McDermott Bridge over the Trinity, the highway provides a sweeping view of downtown Dallas before curving south of the central business district. Along this stretch, travelers pass under Interstate 35E and circle around to connect with both Interstate 45 and U.S. Route 75. From here, Interstate 30 continues eastward toward Mesquite, where it shares an interchange with U.S. Route 80 and again with Loop 12.
Turning northeast, the route crosses the interchange with Interstate 635 before leaving Dallas city limits and entering Garland. Just beyond the eastern connection with the President George Bush Turnpike, the highway runs alongside the western shore of Lake Ray Hubbard. This segment concludes at Bass Pro Drive, a popular stop for travelers before crossing the lake toward Rockwall.

🚙 Drive Americas Highways for 49 miles north along the Woodlands Trace Parkway from Dover to Grand Rivers, Tennessee/Kentucky 🏞
The video begins at the intersection of U.S. Route 79 and Tennessee Secondary Route 461 in Dover. Traveling generally north for approximately three miles, the road enters the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area and becomes the Woodlands Trace Parkway, or The Trace. Travelling generally north through the entirety of the Land Between the Lakes, The Trace enters Kentucky near the Cedar Pond Picnic Area.
Entering Kentucky, the parkway meanders up the peninsula to Golden Pond, where it intersects U.S. Route 68 at a controlled access interchange. Continuing north, the Woodlands Trace Parkway makes its way through the park, turning onto a more northwesterly course near Woodson Chapel Rd. Now heading northwest, the highway passes, the Star Camp Picnic Area and the Hillman Ferry Campground before leaving the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area at the Barkley Canal.
On the north side of Barkley Canal, the parkway ends and becomes Kentucky Route 453. The video continues along KY-453 for approximately 3 miles where it ends at the intersection with U.S. Route 62 in Grand Rivers.
