If you’re heading to Oktoberfest in Munich, a little planning can make a HUGE difference. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve been before, here are some tips to help you get more out of the world’s largest Volksfest.
Oktoberfest Tips:
• Take the train/public transportation, getting there is easy, just follow the signs and the crowds from the station Theresienwiese.
• Go during the week around noon if you want to experience Oktoberfest with smaller crowds.
• Reserve a table early if you’re going with a group or want a guaranteed spot inside one of the popular beer tents. Reservations can fill up months in advance.
• Explore more than the beer tents, Oktoberfest has rides, food, games, attractions and plenty to see outside the major tents.
• Check out the Oide Wiesn for a more traditional, nostalgic and generally less hectic Oktoberfest experience.
• Stop at Rischart’s Café for coffee, cakes and desserts when you need a break from beer and traditional festival food.
• The party doesn’t necessarily end at the Wiesn, there are official Oktoberfest after-party options if you want to keep the night going.
