This is an addition to classic sports videos on this channel. It’s edited down from a 1979 NFL NBC Sports Feature celebrating O.J. Simpson’s football retirement. He played for the NCAA USC Trojans, and the NFL Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers, setting many records along the way. The comments and TV fight scene are unintentionally ironic, and somewhat prophetic of his year’s to come as a murder suspect and inmate.
On the wake of his death, Apr 10, 2024, there are many O.J. Simpson Trial of the Century commentary videos. Not many vintage videos from his NFL and acting career standpoint can be found. I’ve had this footage from my NFL collection for a long time. I edited this down (partially due to music and partially to get to the point in this A.D.D. video world).
The intent is to show a piece of sports & social commentary history on my channel which also includes sports videos (including classic NFL and NHL). Don’t worry, there will be more Live shows, Roller Coasters incl TT2 aka Top Thrill 2 and Snoopy & Peanuts videos this season!
It includes unintentionally prophetic comments by Howard Cosell, who definitely had a poetic way with words, accompanied by footage of O.J. rushing for the Buffalo Bills. Others who make comments are Dwight Chapin of the L.A. Times quoting a USC teammate of O.J.'s Jim Snow, his Mother & Sister about how he was going to be the most famous person on TV, O.J. himself and Bryant Gumbel of NBC's "NFL Today". Clips of O.J. rushing, acting, and how he wanted people to like him.

He was found responsible in the ensuing Civil Trial, in the Santa Monica Courthouse in 1997.
He was released on parole for armed robbery of sports memorabilia & kidnapping in 2017.
He died of cancer at the age of 76, in Las Vegas in 2024.
