Oil Painting Technique landscape shading

As I improve my oil painting technique, so I can improve my landscape painting when I do Plein air outings, I'm sharing with you what I learned.

In two different short studies, I look at darkening (shading) with complementary colors and lightening with white versus darkening and lightening with analogous colors.
