I don't think anyone expected Grok 4.5 to actually be good, much less outperform Opus 4.8 and rival GPT 5.5. But these are strange times and my April prediction is finally coming back full circle and xAI is making their comeback with a model that is neck and neck with GPT-5.5, beats Opus 4.8, and sits just below Fable 5, all at ~1/5 the price and far better token efficiency. It's the best of the previous generation and just that is insanely cool.
