Haku had (probably) an allergic reaction. The vet thinks it's likely eosinophilic granuloma complex, based on a biopsy that showed a lot of eosinophils in his skin. EGC is basically an immune system overreaction to an allergen. He's totally okay other than being itchy and a little bald!
