Today we’re playing Oh Hell or as it’s politely known in Utah, Oh Heck. This classic trick-taking card game has been around for ages, but it still manages to amuse new players and humble confident ones. In this Play-in Games tutorial, we cover everything you need to know to play a full game of Oh Hell (aka Oh Well, Oh Heck, Blackout, Mormon Bridge, or any other regional euphemism you’re using to hide your rage).
You’ll learn:
• The object of the game (spoiler: it’s predicting your own failure)
• The changing hand size each round
• How the “Devil Suit” works
• Bidding rules (and the cruel mechanic that ensures at least one loser per round)
