Although there was never any album planned, this song was recorded along with 14 other songs written by Smokey Robinson in mid-1968. Three tracks from the sessions appeared on her 1969 album 'The Real Barbara McNair." The remaining recordings remained unreleased until 2003 when they were released on the 2-CD set, "Barbara McNair - The Ultimate Motown Collection."
I find her version of "Oh Be My Love" to be the best version of all recordings of this song. It is romantic, passionate, beautiful, and haunting. Barbara was an incredible talent with a beautiful voice that made any song she sang come alive.
